Shipwreck El Vencedor

What is a reff without a resident wreck? So just to make sure we are more than official, we present El Vencedor. She went down in dubious circumstances in the early 1980s and with over 25 years of growth, it is amazing to see how a tuna trawler can slowly surrender itself back to the ocean.

She lies between El Bajo and El Cantil and has become the classic artificial reef surrounded by sand. Here you will experience shoals of puffer fish (sometimes into the hundreds), as well as the resident snappers and eels. Later into the season, turning into October and November, the sardine run changes this dive site into a low vizability dive (due to the shear number of fish).

We especially like this dive with clear waters and without too much current. At 40-45 feet, it is an ideal dive for some natural light photography and get out that wide angle lens for those school! Lastly, it is an ideal dive for experianced and beginner alike.
