Cortez Explorers and Cabo Pulmo WaterSports Join Forces!

We have some fantastic news to share with you! The PADI 5 Star IDC Center in Mulege, Cortez Explorers, is moving south to join forces with Cabo Pulmo Watersports, in Cabo Pulmo. Cabo Pulmo is located about 45 miles North of Cabo San Lucas and is home to the world's most northern true coral reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. Multitudes of marine life are here in all their glory, from whales to whale sharks, shoaling jacks and mobula, and resident sea lions of course!! Truly, this reef system has it all. We are fortunate to have the biodiversity of the coral reefs as well as the open ocean pelagics and the southern Baja species.

Cabo Pulmo Watersports will be changing its name but not its identity. You already know it as a first class diving operation and now we will be known as Cortez Explorers at Cabo Pulmo, a PADI 5 Star IDC facility, #21073.

Our brand new classroom with all modern teaching facilities including LCD projectors, large drop down screens, TVs and DVD players has just been completed. All courses will be conducted by our resident professional PADI Course Director, Mick Chapman, CD53358. Each student will receive personalized attention and course materials to make their goals a success.

Cortez Explorers at Cabo Pulmo will also be conducting PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDC's) here in Cabo Pulmo three or four times per year. You will be under the tutelage and guidance of our Course Director Mick, who retains a 100% graduation record for all instructors; where better to learn to be a PADI Instructor? He is a thorough professional; you will be in good hands!

New to Cortez Explorers are internship opportunities for those who are at a recreational level and want to continue up the PADI ladder to become a PADI professional.

Starting in January 2012 we will be holding a monthly "Photographic Competition" and each months winner will also be entered into the grand final pick at the end of the year. The winner of that final wins a three day dive trip for two at a mutually agreeable time. More details to follow, watch our website and Facebook for more info on this fun competition!

Lastly, we would like to express our thanks to Pilu and Henri who worked with Cabo Pulmo Water Sports. Although we are now parting ways and they are no longer representative of Cabo Pulmo Watersports or Cortez Explorers, we would like to wish them all the best.
