PADI Rescue Diver Course
In our opinion, it should be every divers ambition to be at least Rescue Diver trained. This is a very valuable course that certainly makes you a safer person to have around any dive site. You will be well equipped to deal with any emergency diving situation, should it arise.
You will be taught how to handle a distressed and panicked diver both on the surface and underwater, with your own safety in mind. Furthermore you will conduct search patterns, using all your skills learned in previous courses, as if looking for a lost diver. Other skills learned include: How to safely bring an unconscious diver to the surface; how to handle the situation once on the surface, giving ventilations as necessary; and exiting with an unconscious diver to the boat or shore.
Additionally you will be taught oxygen administration and first aid for the victim. There are various scenerios to adapt and respond to during the course and by the end you will, for sure, be an improved and more rounded diver.
This is a truly brilliant course, that may help you save a life one day and it may have nothing to do with diving. You will be more prepared for any emergency situation. The course lasts two to three days, and we promise a great deal of fun. So either come join us for a weeks worth of diving, or take the short trip north from Cabo San Lucas and learn something that will benefit you and your family.
You are required to be First Aid trained in full CPR to gain this certification. If you are not already CPR trained, do not worry, the DSAT Emergency First Response course will take care of that. More information on the DSAT course can be found here.
