Cortez Explorers has launced into the world of social networking! On the left navigation you can find links to our twitter and blog areas! I know, this is pretty radical for us, but we are finding it requestd more and more by our clients.

What we provide: Well, after taking over the dive center 4 years ago, we have discovered many new dive locations, and killer baja diving sites! Cousteau is quoted as saying that the Sea of Cortes [is the] "The aquarium of the world". We have been lucky to find some amazing dive locations that back up those lofty claims. As we are a PADI dive center, we can offer all levels of courses, from Open Water Diver to Divemaster, through to Instructor Development Courses.

Palomita What you can see: I will keep this brief, however in this year along, baja diving trips have produced the following sightings:

  • Blue & Fin Whales.
  • Whale Sharks.
  • Dolphins.
  • Sea Lions.
  • Orca.
  • Turtles.
  • Sea Horses.
  • Guitar Sharks.
  • Manta & Mobula.
  • Plus all the reef fish!
  • Indeed, the Sea of Cortes is one of the richest bodies of water in the world. Fishermen have known the secrets of Mulege for years, catching a variety of reef and pelagic fish. These same fish can be seen from all of our dive sites on any given dive: Baracuda, Wrasse, Dorado, Sweet Lips, Sergeant Majors and Angels just to name a few. Then there are the Turtles, Sealions, Dolphins, Manta, Mobula and a variety of Whale species. Our diving has distinct seasons, each one unique and exciting. With the colder waters of winter come the Sealions and Whales; they come to breed and over winter along our shores. Then as the water heats up, the plankton blooms and attract the larger pelagic species. Come the summer, the water is too hot for plankton, the visibilty increases and so does the overall amount of life in the water. See our average sea temp charts for more information.

Full Service we can help provide airline transfers and accomodations in the Mulege area. We offer a full range of Hotel and Bed and Breakfasts to match any budget.
